Ways of getting it? you mean increasing it or viewing what your current score is? If you mean viewing goto one of the three credit bureaus's website and buy your credit score. If increasing it then it takes time, pay your bills on time, get a car loan and pay that ontime and in 3-4 years you'll have excellent credit.

if you have a wamu credit card you can see your monthly credit score online for free. you are allowed a free credit report once a year from www.annualcreditreport.com but i believe there is no credit score in that report. you have to buy your credit score. so at the moment i think a wamu credit card is the best & "free" bet. anyone else can suggest something else?

Balbhadra, You can go to freecreditscore.com and get your score for free for a month. You'll have to provide your credit card information but they will not charge you anything for first month. You have an option to cancel it within a month however if you dont cancel it, they will charge you 12.99/month. Good Luck.

Balbhadra, you best bet of checking your free report is how midwestdude suggested... by visiting www.annualcreditreport.com. You can check your report from all three bureaus once a year and to see your score you might have to pay about 7 dollars. I DO NOT recommend freecreditscore.com as that is one big hassle. Also checking you credit score/report any number of times for personal use doesn't hamper you credit score or report in anyway.

bal, there you go man, forget everything else. if you have a wamu credit card, your credit score is FREE. once you activate your credit card, log in to the online account service. under credit profile, you will be able to see your FICO credit score for free. it is updated monthly. you can see your FICO credit score for the last 12 months.this does not hamper anything. why would you lose a score for viewing your credit score for free? but you do have to understand that the credit bureaus take a couple of months to update your score. a few factors affecting your credit score: 1. if you close/open too many accounts in a short span of time. 2. if you don't carry a healthy balance every month (you can carry a balance but try to pay in full each month) 3. above all late payments. the highest credit score is 850. any score above 750 gets you the best rates on loans. cheers !
