hey guys.... i just need an honest help on this. i came to america 2 years back and i am still going to community college. i am planning to go to the university but still im quiet not sure that i am ready yet. im working my ass off to pay my tutuon bills but even though my bill seems too expensive. my community college costs around $2500 per sem for 12 credit. now i am wandering .... even to pay $2500 seems like a big deal for me, how could i possibly go to university that will cost more than $5000? to be honest .. i dont consider my self to be a bright student to get good scholarship. i am just a miserable student who is struggling with maintaining good gpa and work schedule. i dont see any future with the way im living right now. im just worried that i might end up getting C grade and finally out of status because of not being able to pay the tution bills in time.
please some body let me know, how other neapli students are handling such problems. somebody please help me to find the right college. to be more specific, i'm looking for a good college for architecture. actually i came to america for a fine arts program so that later i can go for animation. but now i am realising that animation is to expensive so i am trying my luck for my second option i.e architecture.
any kind of information will be helpfull. thanks in advance.

Rockey 07,Don't be frustrated and upset. Many students go through that situation. Just believe in you that you can over come it. First of all, in which state do you live?? In Irving,TX, Edmond, OK and some other places, there are many Nepalese students who work part orfull time and go to to college. The colleges are not that expensive and they have beenmanaging well. If you think you're studying in an expensive college, transfer to one of the not-so-expensive colleges. SOme of such colleges are:North Lake College, Irving, TXBrook Haven College, Dallas, TXWeatherford Community College, Weatherford, TXTarleton State Univ, Stevenville, TXUniversity of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, TXSaint CLoud Univ., Minnesota......and a lot, lot others. The first three in the list are community colleges. The trend here @ North Lake is you study here for two years (or however long you might take) and then transfer to auniversity (mainly North Lake students transfer to University of Texas at Arlington, which offers handsome scholarships with GPA of atleast 3.25). Almost all the universitiesin the DFW area ( and there are a lot) offer scholarships with GPAs of 3.25 or higheror 3.0 and higher if you have an Associates Degree.Think about transfering. Good Luck!

Sounds tough. Sorry to hear about your situation, my friend. Here's a plan:
1. Look for relatively cheap universities, eg: Fairmont State in WV, St. Cloud in MN, etc.
2. Apply there and get accepted for Fall of 2008
3. Start networking now to work in Ocean City this summer. I know lot of people work like crazy (90 or 100 hours a week) the whole summer there and make enough to pay for both semesters plus some decent amount to live on.
Fact is, you have to do something. Don't get depressed and do nothing. There is always a way, always...
