Take a defensive driving course. When you send a check, just write one dollar more than the ticketed. They will send you a check for dollar or will send back your written check. Never cash the one dollar check, see what happens? Long time ago someone mentioned that if you do not cash the check the insurance will not be affected? Not sure, but we can check.

Did you consider hiring a traffic defense attorney? Not sure how much is your fine. The attorneys charges anywhere from $100 to $200 to represent minor traffic violators. Very likely, attorney can dismiss your ticket, reduce your fine making sure no point point will be added or even insurance companies be reported. If you can afford attorney fee, consider taking that route. Google for traffic lawyers in Phoenix and interview them before maling selection. Since this is yor first violation in AZ, most likely attorney can dismiss your ticket.

Thanks a lot guys for all your input. This is my first ticket after long time, and the vehicle was under my wife's name, and the ticket was sent along with my picture to make sure whether that's the owner or somebody else. I claimed that's me, and is worth of $201.50. I think it is better idea to talk to lawyer and try to waive the points, any how i have to pay that amount. Because points affect for the long run. Any more suggestions. Tha nks.

It makes much sense to hire an attorney in your case. Look for the attorney who do nothing but represent traffic violators (DUI, Speeding, etc). Paying $200 or so to a defense attorney is worth it when he can dismiss your ticket entirely (which may be very possible scenario in your case). These lawyers know how to play these type of cases, know courts and court proceedings, know judges and prosecutors and their styles. Good luck. http://lawyers.findlaw.com/lawyer/firm/Traffic-Violations/Phoenix/Arizona
