Same scenario as above but say they are both Equal in everything, then i will choose nepali doctor duh!!!cos im nepali!!i be bias and go with me own folks!!and even if the nepali was more expensive..but i could afford ..i would go to him!!cos duh!!i can afford!! Next scenario, its just a normal sickness but still quite bad so need to see a doctor(if not i cant be arsed to go to docs!!hehe)..nepali doctor again for me!!if he aint chuccha etc ;oP..u know frenly doctor ;o)...i prefer to choose the frenly one ;o)..makes me visit so much nicer ;o)..makes me feel better straight away ;o) hehe... so yap!!!all situation based!!if not like hush cant be bordered hehe..just feel sick being in a hospital :oS...but i would really prefer to have a doctor like Patch Adam(seen only the movie..havent seen a doc like him tho :oS..tho met some frenly ones :oD..) hope this helped explorer in watever u were tryng to get from this post :oS....opening a clinic ;o) hehe...tho im sure it wasnt much help :oS hehe..good luck with other feedbacks :oD ----------- hush dun say that..too much ironies in the world..u just might end up with a Doc ;o)..never say never ;oP hehe.. good day :oD

I do not get the question. No matter what, if a doctor wanna practice in US they have to go throug gruelling ordeal. They have to clear USMLE and be admitted in Residency program. After 3 to 4 yrs in residency, may be a year in fellowship. Then only may be individual practice comes along. peace out

On second thoughts does it make a diff ? What does race have to do in this profession ? If its a good Dr, does not matter where they got their training.

It does not matter. Doctors have lotta things to lose, if they screw up. The law applies to all regardless of origin or sex.

A doctor from Nepal must have some guddi inside to be practising in the US. Further more when it comes to medicine, experience does matter. Very likely the Nepali has had a good experience treating Nepalis back home. Any way he probably knows what we Nepali suffer most from. You can be pretty frank with Nepali doctors vs others. Without knowing the background (i.e. if everything is as unknown as it is to me in this case) I'd go for the gorkhe.

Test Director, What guddi are you talking about ? Experience does matter, agreed. Nepali dr has good experience treating Nepali's in Nepal, agreed. Probably know what Nepalis suffer from, agreed. But what if its something other than that ? When it comes to Specialists you cannot beat the Dr In US(they have the biggest R/D in the world) Be frank with Nepali Dr and not others ? Disagree ---> if you are not frank with your Dr, you are cheating yourself(need to give full minute deatails in order to find out what is wrong). A good Dr is good Dr regardless of race, education, or where they practice.

The Nepali doctor versus the American doctor reminds me of driving in Nepal compared to driving in the US. No matter how good a driver you are in the US, boy you will need special skills to be driving in Nepal. The streets are different crowded, more people, cows, dogs, and a lot of chaos. Same thing with doctors, the diseases of Nepal are very typical to Nepal. Maybe US has more high tech equipments but when it comes to doctor - patient style treatments of regular diseases, Nepali doctors can treat nepali people and nepali common diseases better than US doctors. Look at simple case of skin disease in the US versus Nepal. A US doctor would probably think everyone is sick by looking at the skin because most people don't even take showers for ages. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

I am thankful to every one for their valuable opinios. Yes its true that when it comes to the same level of training, they should be equal and infact should be better as some of u said as we know nepali people much than others. Its also true that patient might feel more homely with nepali doc thanks again

What are you trying to get at? This discussion does not make any sense. Can you be more specific at what are you trying to get at? Right now, its too vague. peace out
