@rbajrach

You can buy it from any Walmart location. They have these new bitcoin vending machines like the ones that you make new keys, or exchange coins for cash in front of checkout counters.

Let us know how much you buy. I just bought few last week.

Best of luck

May be I didn't ask the question correctly. But I am not joking, I really want to get some bitcoins. This is a serious question. From which online vendor/agency/site (don't know the technical term), I can buy bitcoin?

If you are serious about spending thousand of dollars then you need to first do "some" homework and then ask some productive questions so that folks here also feel like they are explaining to someone genuinely interested rather than just a rock.

To answer your question - Open an account in bitstamp or coinbase. I use bitstamp. You can buy and trade from there.

Before asking how to create an account there, and on the necessary credentials that they require...I request you to find some information on how bitcoin works - most importantly the trading of bitcoin. There are plenty of online articles and videos on it on many credible news websites.

Then bring your questions here.

Best of luck!

sojoketo ji,
any logic behind your opinion about how it is going to collapse? If you have valid reasons, please share so that we can be aware and I will probably stop investing on it.

@rbajrach: I use coinbase for ETH and bitstamp for XRP. I have noticed that bitstamp charges you less. Kraken is another source but its lengthy verification process is not very convenient.

Virtual currency is here to stay. While the bitcoin itself might be at its peak and will only go down.
Some of the new cryptocurrency protocols have additional features that make them more attractive to investors. So yea cryptocurrency is here to stay unless someone finds a vulnerability in the protocol which if there was one would be out by now.

sojoketo, if you think bitcoin is not safe the you have no idea how bitcoin or blockchain works. The very idea of bitcoin was to oppose the volatility and insecurity of other currencies.

"it would be collapsed soon or later.
virtual money is no safe..
wannacry?"

where is the logic? you know this phrase: "little knowledge is dangerous"?

You might want to do a little research before pouring opinions lest you end up looking like a dumbass.

Yea and he just threw a "wannacry" in there just to sound smart. wanna cry was a ransomware-based exploit, a very different vector than what would be needed for bitcoin networks.

I bought some ETH @ 30 at the beginning of the year. amazing returns so far. I'm expecting it to go to $500 at some point this year.

Yes, this statement is true. Those who couldn't get my hint in my first response, i can't help you.
Anyways, before you play around with bitcoins or ethereum, have proper research on it.

@Sojoketo, What makes to assume that all these folks investing on virtual currency are not doing enough research ? Would you please share what did you find in your research that we should be aware of. Thanks in adv.

PS: Already read your previous comments and still wondering why yours and ours research have different results.

I bought 20 Ethereum @ 350 after seeing this thread. I was expecting to get at least 100% in 2 months, but now it's falling like crazy. What to do?
