Cant even articulate how to condemn such a disgusting act, wish this does not go unnoticed by the prying eyes of Nepe Sir's

Nepe sir, launa man shanta pari dinus, malai ta gali garna ni aayena

This is NOT his fault BUT our system's fault. Unless we root out Feudal Royal system by burning into ashes, a complete awareness level to all citizens can not be achieved. There will always be some people, who unknowingly behave like Shiva Shrestha. However, such acts from Shiva Shresta--- a popular and successful movie star--- are very very shameful. It was better for him to drawn in a cup of water than to touch an drug-smuggler's legs.

I wonder what he is thinking while doing such silly act.

This was what Gurga Baral depicted in his cartoon about Rastrabadi Shiksya.

Remember folks he is an actor, he knows what he is doing and it is his personal choice, nobody forced him to do that. It is not his inferiority complex, look at his atire, most of us here would be in formal dress if we were to be in such situation. So, I personaly don't think Shiva dai was too much bothered for formality of the event but the bowing down an act executed to perfection.

may be Kalekrishna is right! But at the same time look at the THASULNI; ho w pleased she seems! May be she was not expecting such a bow from at least a wise Nepali. I here dare to say Shiva Srestha a wise guy as he had played in many films against the local feudalism of JAMEENDAR or MUKHIYA of a village. well it might be his acting to bow in front of the THASULNI but think guys what massage could have been inhereted in such an acting...! Though I am not a good political analyser , I think that he is competing to get a DAMI POST in MAKARTANTRA in near future.

Shiva is inferior to the Hindu god Bishnu, Gyane chor. So he is doing all this to his wife, the goddess! The man standing next to her is saying, 'see ma'am, even Shiva does that to you!'

It is not Shiva Shrestha who is bowing, it is a Nepali just like you and me. All Nepalies are enforced to do the same. He is portraying the act of every Nepali. What would you do if you were at that situation ??? You may not bow as Shiva did but you have to do something that your principle does not want you to do.

Username,

Don't get me wrong, I abhor any politically submissive gesture from any citizen to our royalty. However, for some reason, I don't find this picture as repugnant as some of you are viewing.

Clearly, I am not seeing the lady in the picture as a political figure.

To me, in absence of knowing much about her personality, she provokes a picture of a harmless creature and, if I may, an unlucky wife of a suicidally ambitious husband and a sad mother of a devilish son.

Even if that was not the case, women of our royalty, except for the Queen Rajendralaxmi and Kanchhi Maharani Rajya Laxmi of Basanti's fame perhaps, have been more deprived and abused than their counterpart in the commoners, haven't they ?

So, in this picture I don't see a wife of a dictator or a woman with a dictator's dream. Instead I see my durbar paseki phupu of yesteryears.

And frankly, Shiva Shrestha looks more like a jolly good bhadaha making a funny gesture with his own phupu. And Komal, as if saying, "छि: यो भदाहा त के विधी नक्कल पार्न जान्या नि, सिनिमाको हिरो न ठहरियो"

This is one the best things I have seen on sajha in years. More power to Shiva Shrestha. Respect towards authority and customs should not translate to slavery and butt kissing, it might also portray discipline and loyalty. I wish I had the guts and an opportunity to set an example like Mr. Shrestha.

very glad,,

and someone thinks it is discipline and respect. if there were no minds to challenge such notions in dictatorships, Nepal today would still look like Rana's Nepal some hundred years ago!
