Hello fren,
I have realized that the brand new cars of Toyota are having troblem. Mostly the car manufactured on 2011 and 2012 and mostly corolla are having minor problems. such as worst gas milage(like 20 miles a gallon), cranking problem in cold, Toyota Logo in the front comming out, Sunroof not closing completely,
Are there anyone who are having same problem?
Please mention the problema and what you guys did for the solution.
Thanks for you discussion.

Toyota will fix it , take it to the dealer.
In cold most car crank, spray something on the serpentine belt for the cranking.
20 miles per gallon???????????? Are you driving a V8 truck or what?

My Car consumming lot of gas, and its V4 . runs like 20-21 miles per gallon, and i went to complain toyota dealer, they said everything is ok, and told me that cold weather may cause car consuming lot of gas. and on the same day there were some other ppl who came to complain at the toyota dealer's place to complain about their brand new car, with many minor problem.
Thats why, I wana know if any ppl at sajha got same kind of problem.
Thanks

Most of the time the dealer put the car inside, they ask you to come back. Do nothing on the car and give you report every things are fine. Read the कर्तुत of a dealer.

Would advise against spraying anything on the belts. I did that once and it ended up worsensing the situation by making the belt surface sticky. For squeaky serpentine belts, try adjusting the tensioner or consider replacing serpentine belts. They are not that big of a job if you are a DIY type person and does not cost a lot.
But for a car from 2011 or 2012 it's unlikely that you will have such a problem so fast, unless one's been using it for drag racing. And yeah one must have be drag racing with a corolla or driving it up the hill all the time to get 20mpg. Or is it a v8 corolla?

I get 25 mpg in city which includes 5 days of rush hour traffic to and from work. I don't drive on highways. Definitely the car gives less mpg in cold weather because we crank up the heater (depends on where you live). But I have never heard of a V4 Toyota giving 20mpg.
Why don't you check if the tank is leaking?

Cranking up the heater in cold should not reduce the mpg because heaters use the hot coolant (same coolant that circulates in the engine to draw the heat out of it) circulated in the blower. Cold starting engnines does use some extra fuel, until the engine gets back to normal operating temperature.
In summer AC does kill the gas mileage, because it needs a compressor to be driven, which takes power off of the engine. You can hear the change in the sound coming off from engine when you run the AC, you wont hear any of that while running the heater.
Are you sure it's a corolla and not a tundra? You said that the logo in front came off, so wondering if someone sold you something else calling it corolla :(. Have a mechanic/dealer checked it to make sure it is what you think it is.

MY_MAN,
Agree with you. Why would anyone buy Corolla if it's not giving good mpg.
and yes, my 2012 corolla gives 21/22 MPG when I am in city and about 27/28 when I am in city+highway.
Is there any solution anyone found?
Thanks.
