Maoist students to close down higher secondary schools The Maoist-aligned All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary) has announced to force all private higher secondary schools around the country to closure from next year (2062 B.S). Radio reports Sunday said the recent central committee meeting of the ANNISU-R in Dang district decided this. ANNISU-R chairman Lekhnath Neupane speaking to journalists at an unidentified location in Pyuthan district today announced that his organisation was against the privatisation of the education sector and that it would launch an aggressive campaign to close down all 1o+2 (higher secondary) schools, reports said. Neupane said the ANNISU-R would initiate a pressure campaign at the first phase and an action-oriented campaign to close down, once and for all, all higher secondary schools around the country. ?Those in rural areas will be closed first. We will start pressure campaign to close the +2 schools in urban areas,? reports quoted him as saying. The rebel students, however, did not make any mention about the outcome if the schools were closed down nor did they make clear how the losses would be replenished. They only said that they were against the commercialisation of education. Neupane, reports said, also said that the educational strike by the ANNISU-R in Mechi and Koshi zones that is in place since last two weeks would end very soon. nepalnews.com mbk Jan 30 05 Down with Maoism and their student wings. F@ck Independent Students Union (Revolutionary). You guys are bunch of ass holes with no sentiments for Nepal and Nepalese people. Stop politicizing education sector. Don't pull down Nepal from the edge. Lekhnath Newpane you are a$$ hole that's why to show your power to the Government you are using Education sector as a weapon. shame on you ba$tards! Enough is enough. STOP! STOP!! STOP!!! STOP!!!

But these buggers (students-Maoists) forgot that their supreme leaders Prachande and Baburame have their kids studying in UK/USA. There must be some other leaders whose kids are studying outside of Nepal.

New Development.......... PABSON urges ANNISU-R to reconsider on shutting down private schools The Private and Boarding Schools Organisation of Nepal (PABSON) has appealed the Maoist-aligned All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary) to reconsider its decision to shut down all private schools from the coming academic session next year (2062 B.S). Talking to newsmen Monday, PANSON president Umesh Shrestha said, ?The rebel students should have thought about the future of over 2 million students studying in private schools and over 150 thousand teaching staff. This decision is bound to have gave psychological effect on the students and the guardians.? ?We appeal them to reconsider on their decision, he said after a meeting of the Central Committee of the PABSON. Shrestha said that the government was sitting idle even when the private school operators and the guardians had been pressuring it for negotiations with the rebel students to resolve the problems. ?It is as if there is no government here,? he fumed. There are 8500 private schools in the country. The PABSON president said the government would have to take up an extra expense of about Rs.10 billion to make alternative provisions if the private schools were closed. Disclosing the decision of a meeting of the Central Committee meeting, ANNISU-R chairman Lethnath Neupane had declared at a press conference in Pyuthan Sunday that his organisation was against the privatisation of education and that it would launch a campaign to close down all the private schools around the country from the next academic session. After the meeting, the PABSON called upon the Maoist students not to obstruct the SLC sent-up exams starting from Thursday in eastern districts. The exams that were to start from January 26 were cancelled due to an indefinite closure by the ANNISU-R in Mechi and Koshi zones. nepalnews.com mbk Jan 31 05 ............................... i don't know what will happen to nepal's educational sector. why don't army kill that neupane bastard. if i ever heard the news of neupane's death i will give a grand party at my home.

I keep hearing that children of Maoist Leaders, Prachanda and Baburam for example, are in the UK and/or the US getthing their higher education. Is this just a rumour or are they really really are here? If so, where are they exactly, in which town, in which school, at what level? What are their names? I, as a Nepali, would like to know. If this rumour is indeed true, then why are the Maoists in Nepal not aware of their leaders' hypocricy? I am totally flummoxed.

Why the heck should the Maoists close down the schools ? If they are not happy with the running of in the country schools why dont they build their own school and close it down 24 hours, 7 days a week and 12 months a year. No one is going to say anying about it or even bother to know if their school is closed or open. Why should the Maoists bother about someone else's schools ?

Holla back, Once again.......we have come back to the same spot. What have we learn from last several years of civil war. Nothing, you are still verbally attacking maoist, maoist are still fatally attacking civilians and the rest of the world is just helplessly looking at the fate of our country. Is there anyone sincerely scheming a roadmap to resolve this issue or atleast connive a plan to get rid of all the major political rats and deceptive vultures? So until then all you can do is talk as much as you like but remember when its time to act there will be non. Its sad but true...............holla if you hear me. F_P AKA Real_ballar

Neta_ji please explain your contrasting positions w.r.t. these two threads. Neta ji writes under the thread titled: Maoist Brutality: "At least the Maoist murder or brutally injure civillians and leave the gruesome bodies in the open and public place therefore the public and the news media can report it (picture in the begining of the thread is an example). At at least the Maoists frankly admit it and take the responsibility of such actions no matter how poorly they justify their actions behind their acts, Which make newsmedia to figure out the number of murdered and injured civillians by the Maoists with far greater accuracy. " Neta_ji again writes under current thread: "Why the heck should the Maoists close down the schools ? If they are not happy with the running of in the country schools why dont they build their own school and close it down 24 hours, 7 days a week and 12 months a year. No one is going to say anying about it or even bother to know if their school is closed or open. Why should the Maoists bother about someone else's schools ?" In Thread "Maoist brutality", you prasied Maoists for leaving the scar of their brutality as a gift to Press and Human rights activists who can record and illustrate the act of Maoists. I don't think that they left these scenes for press or HRA s but to the public to tell that what would happen if the public don't listen to Maoists. Thats my interpretation and your interpretation is clearly different. But, in second posting whether its your own frustration or something else, I don't understand your contrasting position if I am correctly following your comments in this website. You have been blamed by some writers that you are an agent of Maoists (in some thread someone else wrote it, I am just quoting it). I believe (I have no proof, yet) to believe that you are an agent of Maoists, nor you are Maoists, neither you are a supporter of Maoists, I do understand that you are simply a guy frustrated with ongoing political instability in Nepal. These two contrasting postings are clearly indication of your position in gray zone, pour of your frustration. Die hard supporter won't be writing these sentences or questions that you have raised in this particular thread. I believe I am right. I wanted to see you feel positive from every act of Maoists, present things positively for our digestion, but how come you become so negative and pessimistic in that posting? Did someone hacked your Sajha.com username? GP

Why shut down schools? this is not a very good decision. Privatization or not privatization of education system in a nation will only create more problems . Yes one thing --education system don't make a highschool drop out fool an academic or a philosopher. Why don't maoists opt for an agenda that is more socialist in dogma and less communistic in practice? In doing so, maoists will have more followers..

GP May be you understand better if you can read this: Do you ever read or watch news from US Congress or US Senate or House of Commons of Canada or House of Common of Bratain ? In the US Congress have you not heard of Democrat Congressmen voting against the legislation brought by Democrat crongressmen because the issue goes aginst their conscience (plz dont ask me what the heck conscience means) or in another case a Republican Cogressmen voting against a legislation brought by Republican Congressmen for the very same reason. Have you not heard Republican Congressmen voting for legislation brought by Democrat Congressmen because the issue is in line with their conscience and vis a versa. Here is another example. Next week Liberal Party of Canada(which is currently in govt.) is introducing "same sex marriage legislation" , therefore formally re-defining marriage to fully include same sex marriage into Canadian Law wants MPs to vote for the legislation. There are 4 different parties and 2 independent MPs(member of Parliament). Official position of Liberal Party(as it is brought by it's own govt.) is to vote and pass the legislation. On TV interviews many members of Liberl Party MPs have told the press that they will vote against the same sax legislation (which is against the official positon of their party). Main oppostion Conservative Party of Canada DOES NOT want re-defination of marriage therefore wants its MPs to vote against the legislation. On TV interviews some of it's members have openly said that they will vote for the legislation (which is against the official position of their party) Same thing is happening inside Block Quebecos and NDP as well. However this legislation is expected pass even if some MPs of Liberal Party and almost all Conservative Party MPs will vote against the legislation. The combined number of MPs from all four parties saying YES for the legistation will outnumber the combined number of MPs (from those four parties) saying NO. From the examples from above I believe one has to able to say it's not right "BASED ON ISSUE". On the Issue of closing schools in Nepal I guess Maosits are ass***le. If politicians were to follow and support their party on various issues "that blindly" (as you have presumed oin your writings above ), may be the western democracies would have had been a mess far worse than Nepal.

Hey priya saathiharu: Tyo Amanaviya kaaryekilaap gane Baburame ra Hisila ko chhori MANAVI ko patta lagaunu paryo. Where is she studying? What is she studying? HOw her education is being financed? While the kids of nepal are being deprived of education due to her parents activities. No matter what, Maoists should not create interruptions in the education system. Whether it's be govt or private school. Those kids are our future!!!

Prem dai I dont think that it is a nice decision to disclose her name in public...she has her own personal freedom..she may not be supporting maoist ideology..n if she is she has the right to do so as long as she doesnt harm our personal freedom. Lets not get too personal on these type of issues ..the only thing we can do is just sit and wait ..'paap dhuri bata karaucha 'as it is said in Nepali they will be ceratinly be against their father if they learn to know what their father have done for their country. May peace prevail in Nepal
