उपत्यका बन्द र नेवार!!!!

नेवा राज्यको माग गर्दै गरिएको भनिएको उपत्यका बन्द र बन्दकर्ताहरुको चर्तिकलाबाट आज म जस्ता धेरै नेवारहरुको शिर निहुरेको छ। नेवार के हो भन्ने थाहा नभएका लुच्चाहरुले भाषा र जातिको गुच्चा  खेलिरहेका छन।

सदभावको शान्ता तलाउमा भाषा र जाती नामक दुई ढुंगा प्रहार गर्दा तरंगिने तरङ्गहरु अन्य नामधारी प्रहार भन्दा हजरौं गुणा ठुलो हुन्छ । त्यसमाथि कुण्ठा, असफलताको आक्रोश जोडीदा अझ घातक हुने हुन्छ ।

हो भाषा र सुमुदाय प्रती  म गर्ब गर्छु । गौरबशाली ईतिहास छ, बैभवशाली कला संस्क्रिती छ ।
नेवार समुदाय कहिलेइ हिंस्रक र बिध्वंसकारी भएको थिएन, हुने छैन । तर आजको बन्दको फोटो हेर्नु भयो भने त्यो सत्य असत्य भएको पाउनु हुने छ । प्रेस माथि आक्रमण, फलफूल बजार भित्र लूट्पाट। सवारि साधनहरुको तोड्फोड।

फोटोहरु नियालेर हेरें , दोहर्‍याइ हेरें । नेवार समुदायको अनुहार नै नयाँ नेपाल मा नयाँ भैसकेको हो कि वा मैले आफ्नै दाजु भाई नचिनेको हुँ अलमल मा परें। अधिकांश अनुहारहरु आयातित छन, आततायी छन।

कही सत्ता गुम्न गएको, भत्ता खुम्चिएको आक्रोश नेवार मुकुण्डोधारी जंगलिहरु को झुण्ड त होइनन, सोचनिय छ ।

बन्द र बन्दकर्ता दुबै मुर्दाबाद।

जात-जातीको आधारमा राज्य-विभाजन गर्ने तर्क आफैले नै नेवार एक सिङ्गो स्वायत्त प्रदेश नभई अनेक नेवार जातको आ-आफ्नै स्वायत्त प्रदेश हुनुपर्ने माँग स्वत: उत्पन्न हुन्छ ।

तलको तालिका हेरेर अहिले नै कतिवटा र पछि काटमार बढ्दै गएपछि कतिवटा स्वायत्त प्रदेश राख्‍नपर्ने हो, आफै निर्धारण गर्नुहोस् ।

When will all of us Nepalese will get a wake up call to realise that we are all Nepalese. Who disintegrated our ethinical harmony? Was it all those dirty politicians who is disintegrating us? All those political (infact all dirty politicians) taught all communities and ethenic group to disintegrate on the base of family or communal harmony. They taught the people political ideology and broke the social ro cultural harmony that we used to have. Why people are shy to say that they are Nepalese first rather than Maoist, UML, NC, MJF, sadbhawan???

Yes,  Americanboy ! my point is that the idea of “ethnic federalism” [dividing the country among major ethnicities and giving them special privileges like ‘first right’ to rule (primacy, अग्राधिकार), power to impose their language and culture in the respective state and so on] is neither desirable nor possible in a country like ours where more than 100 ethnicities and thousands castes, sub-castes, clans and other divisions live intermingled with each other.

Ethnic federalism will not only not solve the existing problems but will engender new problems like multi-directional ethnic tension and conflicts.

On the other hand, an ethnically secular statehood with provisions for proportional representation of all social groups in politics and affirmative actions for the marginalized groups and so on, which actually are already showing positive effects (the unprecedented representation of diverse ethnicities and groups in the Constituent Assembly, a case in point) looks promising to address the existing problem of exclusion and unequal advantages.

when Pakistan was separating from India on the religion basis, Punjabi also deserved a separate nation based on religion and history. but, they fought and fought several times, but were not heard.

Nepal is going to federalism now, whether you accept or not, we need some sort of federalism, although we don't need autonomous states. Newar also need a state based on their culture and language. therefore, I support the demand of Newar now. but, i think this kind of bandha-hadtal is completely unnecessary. since Newar from all big three parties organised the bandha, they should have put pressure directly on their respective parties instead of coming to street this way.

That's not true... he is bahun, not a newar at all. His father or grandfather used to be vaidya baje in the village.. and that's how they adopted "Vaidya" as a surname. Know the fat, before you jump over something.

I think it is going to be hard for Nepalese of all kinds to feel as one one.  We were taught not to touch the untouchables, respect the brahmins etc etc but now I see where Nepal is headed.  I have seen rai's talking smack about bahuns in the US ( on some rai/magar parade), Sherpas having an ill feeling towards all nepali jats except their own, newars speaking newari to show solidarity, bahuns thinking they are the superior human....and a lot of these are widely practised in the US

We can sit in our comfy chairs, air conditioned houses and talk high but in Nepal its a whole new game, things are manipulated, emotions played with to profit the needs of the party.  So I just hope people change in time before we see the "divide and rule"

That kind of discrimination is spread world wide, not just in Nepal. Look at the stellar pillar of modern day democracy US of A.  Blacks are still looked upon as having low level intelligence than others, Italians are still looked upon and band of thugs, Irish still looked upon as drunken hooligans.  If you look at England, it is the same and even more complicated. They have the Scotts, the Nothern Irish, Wales etc. etc. Even in India they have southern & nothern Indians, Punjabis, Nagaland, Biharis, Tamils etc etc.  In Singapore they are all kinds of people living togather from Chinese, Indian, Thai, Indonesian, Japnese etc etc.   SO IF THEY CAN DO IT SO CAN WE.  EACH ETHNIC GROUP WILL HAVE TO MAKE SOME SACRIFICES AND COMPROMISES IF WE WANT TO STAY NEPALI.  HOINA SABAI JANA MAAI HUU BHANDAI HIDYO BHANEY NEPAL WILL BE STUCK WHERE WE ARE FOREVER.

Although you seem to be on weed yourself to understand me exactly opposite of what I have been advocating (I am against ethnic division of Nepal !), I am glad to see that you share my view.

In fact, I would like to applaud you for this very sensible take, particularly when an umbrella organization of various Janajati groups of Nepal in America (Federation of Indigenous Peoples of Nepal in America (FIPNA)) is advocating for ethnic division of Nepal.

Just two months ago, there was a talk program in New York, A panelist, Dr. Lawoti, was advocating for ethnic division of Nepal.

Forget why Nepal bhandas or for what cause.. it does not matter.....

At least, the environment looked so clean during these bandas.. at least people got on efree day to breathe clean air....
