Objectives of the Nepali Bhasa Pathsala are to:

• Teach Nepali language and culture to children of Nepalis and friends of Nepal to facilitate communication among themselves and Nepalis in Nepal who speak only Nepali.

• To promote Nepali culture to younger generation of Nepalis in America (Nepali Americans) to preserve Nepali cultural heritage in the US.

• To promote Nepali language and culture to friends of Nepali in the US.

• To advocate teaching of Nepalis language as an official foreign language in schools and colleges in the US.

• To establish an “ Institute of Nepali Language and Culture”to teach and promote Nepali languages and culture to everyone interested.

Admission Requirements:

• Be an age of 5 years old

Tuition Fees:

Only $25 for this Semester (October - December 2009)

Note: Tuition is based on $5 per Total of $614.00 was raised by passing the donation box at the Dashain party hosted by BANA to benefit Nepali

Bhasa Kakshya. More than $2,000 was pledged by the members. We are working to collect all the pledges made. We can not thank you enough for your generosity.

We also like to express our gratitude to BANA’s executive team & volunteers for organizing such a wonderful event. We will soon release the names of all donors. Our hat s off to parents for making a commitment to teach their children Nepali Bhasa.

Dear Community Members,

 We would like to invite you to our Open House on February 7, Sunday at the Rosedale Library ( 6105 Kenwood Avenue, Rosedale, MD 21237-2019 )  meeting room  at 1 PM sharp.

Open House will feature the following:

1. Introduction to the Nepali Bhasa Pathsala, Subcommittee members, teachers & students of the Fall session


2.  Brief (half an hour session)  of Nepali Bhasa teaching session


3. Registration for the Spring Semester to start from February  7 for 8 weeks


4. Screening of students for placement


5. Light snacks

Please bring your children to encourage them to learn Nepali Bhasa.

BANA President Rabina Thapa and other executive members will also be there to welcome the guests.
