Hi, I have few questions, maybe you guys can help me out. I am going to Nepal on Sept 9th via England. I am going on a H1 B. Now there are so many visa's that I have to acquire just to stay in the Airport. Does anybody know what kind of visa do i need? and what documents do i have to provide? I have been through British embassy website but I am still confused as to what type of visa is required. Any answers would be much appreciated. Thanks

yeah but even to stay in the airport, they were saying that I would be needing Direct Airside Transit Visa. This is directly through UK website Passport holders from the following countries require a Direct Airside Transit Visa to transit the United Kingdom. This is the case even if you only intend to: Remain airside Stay on the plane Not pass through UK Immigration

I am not aware of that rule. I would say contact UK embassy. Email or write them. I am not sure about that visa. My parents went to nepal via US in 05. They did not need any visa to remail in the airport. They had a 12 hr layover and request to get outside. They even gave them a 24 hrs visa to travel around london.

Amit, If you are just a transit passenger, don't worry about the transit visa as long as you have valid US visa and air ticket to your final destination. I went to Nepal in the end of April via UK and came back the same route in the middle part of June. Two of my friends went to Nepal via UK about a month ago. No hassle at all.

Well my US visa expired on 1999. At that time they only had one year visa. However now I will be travelling on H1B visa. I will get an american visa again from nepal.
