australia all the way ..they are my favourites in everything that they play be it soccer, cricket or anything..they had a chance in WC soccer had it not been the last minute penalty against Italy Any way the my seeds for the cricket world cup are 1.Australia( do i even have to think) 2.Srilanka( Jayasuriya in fire, typical Murali, sangakkara and Vaas thats all they need) 3.South Africa ( they have a good chance but you never know what WC has in store for them, their keys are Ntini, Smith, Kemp and Gibbs) 4.India ( They have matchwinners in their team, is there any stopping them if we get to see the Dravid, Sachin, Sehwag and Ganguly that we knew before) 5. West Indies ( Brimming with confidence and Lara's last WC, who knows whats in store for them especially if Gayle gets loose) 6. Pakistan ( On their day, rather Afridi's day they can beat all, but their inconsistency worries me, other top guns are Inzy, Malik, Akhtar, asif and yousuf. 7. New Zealand ( another inconsistent team but they have Bond, Astle, Flemming and lets hope Vincent as their powers) 8. England ( Can Pieterson and Flintoff make something out of this down and out English team?) 9.Bangladesh ( yes this time around they have got the ninth spot ahead of Zimbabwe, Bashar, Aftab Ahmed, Rafique, Mortaza and maybe the terribly out of form star batsman Ashraful are their primary hopes of making an impresion) 10. Kenya ( well they were a suprise the last wC, Can they do it again?) 11. Zimbabwe( they need to get Streak, Taibu and all these guys back again) 12. Canada( remember john davison's fastest WC century against WI) 13.Scotland 14.Netherlands 15. Bermuda 16. Ireland.

I still believe westinides would be a force to reckon with and win the world cup despite poor showing today. When ramnaresh sarwan comes back the batting line up will look very formidable because sarwan is one of the best one day player in the world. If any team that could win the world cup apart from australia it should be westinidies. It is based on two facts 1. They are playing in the home turf 2. They are only team that have beaten australia regularly in the recent past.

. you place england ahead of bangladesh? on current form, id place them behind kenya my seeds 1. australia (does that need explaining? will reach the finals. might finish second) 2. south africa (i feel that this is their year. if they reach the final, they will win. will definately make the semis) 3/4. india/pakistan (hard to choose between the two, altho id be tempted to give the edge to india, because they are less unpredictable. plus, if india's big 3 are in any kind of good form, then just remember.. 76 ODI centuries between them, and the support cast aint all that bad either. if pakistan reach the finals, they will win. i predict a semi-final or quaret-final loss tho. india will make the semis, maybe more) 5. WI (home, lara. they need gayle to be in form tho. havent been consistently good enough lately for my liking. their bowling is a definate weak link. predict a semi-final at best) 6. SL (i know im gonna cop some hiding for placing them this low, but i really think SL isnt all that good this time around. jayasuria can destroy attacks when in form, but the dudes 37 and not all that consistent anymore. murali and vaas are great, but the support cast aint all there. need a better batting lineup. semi-final at best) 7. NZ (always the dark horses. if they can field their full strangth team, they are as good as anyone, and historically, they have always been the one team to consistenly challenge the aussies. but they always seem to be in some kind of injury trouble. quarterfinals, maybe the semis.) 8. England (low on confidence, riddled by injuries. will be tested by Kenya. amongst the 'serious' test nations, they might be the only ones to not make it through the group stages. quarterfinals at best) 9. Bangladesh (better than ever, yet still not good enough. pooled with india and SL, will proly not make it beyond the group stage. predict them to give some stiff competition tho) 10. Kenya (the best amongst the associate nations. have a couple of quality players. made it to the semis in SA world cup. wont make it so far, although i wont be surprised if they beat england and make it beyond the group stages) 11. Ireland (has a bunch of county cricketers in the side, nepalese might remeber Eoin Morgan, whose 86 nearly sunk nepal in the last version of the u-19 world cup). pooled with pakistan and WI, will proly not go to the next round, but i expect them to beat zimbabwe) 12/13. Scotland/Netherlands (pooled together with aus and SA in group A, neither will make it through. the match between them should be good, though. netherlands depends too much on one player: SA-born ryan ten doescatche for my liking. if he fires, the dutch win. otherwise, its the scots) 14/15/16 zimbabwe, canada, bermuda zimbabwe needs to be stripped of test status. untill they get their internal house in order, i think they are just usurping a world cup place that could go to more deserving teams (NEPAL!! NEPAL!! NEPAL!!) canada has over-the-hill-ex-windies anderson cummins as their strike bowler. nuff said bermuda made it to the WC on fluke performances from their team in the qualifiers. they are being regularly pummeled by the other associates recently. look for records to fall when they play india and SL

. just checked the tournament format turns out the second phase is a super-8 round robin league so here are my (revised) predictions group a: australia, south africa, soctland, netherlands teams thru: SA, AUS possible upsets: none group b: b'desh, ind, SL, bermuda teams thru: india, SL. possible upsets: b'desh beats SL group c: canada, eng, kenya, nz teams thru: nz, eng/kenya. im backing kenya to upset eng and move on here group d: ireland, pakistan, WI, zimbabwe teams thru: pak, wi. possible upsets: ireland beats pak, if pakistan have one of their 'moments'. which makes my super-8 line up aus sa ind sl nz ken pak wi i cant see a scenario when aus will not make it to the semis. theyre just too good predict semis aus, sa, ind, pak with WI and NZ to have outside chances of making it thru. predict kenya to make a decent showing, but will be outclassed here. sl do not have the depth. will struggle. anybodys game once we're in the semis, but i think aussies will be in the final again prediction for finals: aus either lose a closely contested final OR hopelessly outclass the other side to retain the WC for third straight time

Australia: Have shown that they are capable of playing in all conditions - No 1 choice West Indies: Are at home and they will a force to beat - No 2 choice South Africa: Very good ODI record in recent times bu their away record is not so good but can beat anyone in their day but may not consistently perform to go all the way - No 3 choice Not much difference between Pakistan, India, Srilanka - but I would put my money on Srilanka - India lost 5-0 with WI in west indian condition - i dont see them improving much on that. Pakistan cannot perform when it matters - just like in champions trophy no need to talk too much about England, NZ and Bagladesh

Well indians s*** big times outside of india. Last year they won about 15-16 consecutive games then when they toured they kept on losing. They lost to westindies 4-1 in westindies and then lost to westindies and australia in Malaysia. They lost to south africa 5-0 in southafrica. I cant see them winning. I still belive westindies have the best chance this time around after Asutralia. For some reason australia arnt as stong as they seem. Nz and England are giving tough challanges to them in last 4-5 matches. England even beat them by about 100 runs. my choices are 1. austrlia 2.Westindies 3. Soutafrica I cant see any other team winning this world cup.

yeah,I m also pakistani fan and hope they will perform their best games in this world cup.one can never underestimate the pakistani team.afridi, inzi, younus ,yonis r great batsman and can fightback in short period whereas akhtar and asif will b their rocket bowlers,if the team needs something more than razzak, malik and akmal can play as a matchwinners, the current pakistani team has got great potential and it will b great to watch them as afridi is willing to hit more six than ever in the short grounds of WI and akhtar is looking to destroyed the stumps in those bowlers pitch of WI

Azhar Mahmood has been recalled. I think it only strengthens their batting line up. Pakistan is the only team that can create a total in the last 15 overs of the match and defend it. They showed it in the '99 WC. I think their batting line up is stronger this time with a handful of allrounders. GO PAKISTAN, GO!!!

i think with the conditions in the carribean..no subcontinent team will have chance AUS NZ WI SA may be not.. and no ENG too.. Pakistan do have a chance with their bowlers but their batting sucks ..big time.. i think AUS all the way.
