Hi all, I have more than 10 years of genuine experience and planning to enter in federal job for the first time. I have done some research and found that federal contract jobs pay more than direct federal but to obtain clearance it looks like direct federal is better. Which is better in your point of view? What are the other things that I need to know before looking for federal/federal contracts jobs? Any suggestions and information will be greatly appreciated. TIA

@ramaelo, I don't work for federal office but I have a friend who is federal employee. According to him, direct federal employee get more benefits than contractors but the pay is less. Workload may be more as a contractor and you may be out of project/work when the contract is over.

Thank you, Tyo din and ShreeRam. Any federal employee or federal contractor here on Sajha who can provide more inputs? Also, when I look for federal contract jobs on job sites, almost all the employer are asking for active clearance. Are there any federal contract employers who can provide sponsorship for clearance? TIA
