How do i cancel my college application and transfer to another university in a different state ?
I am a student from Nepal coming to Lewiston Idaho this Fall. I have been qualified for the F1 US visa on 2010 Aug. I couldn't leave the country at that time, and now I want to do my further studies abroad. I also changed my mind that I would major in 3D animation course.Now, the problem is my college at lewistion, for which my VISA was issued doesn't have any programs relating to animation. I've already asked for the new I20 and I am flying this AUGUST to lewiston. Is there anyway possible if I could cancel my application from the college and transfer to another state and majoring in the course that i want? and how do i explain it to the immigration office??? Please help!

2010 and 2012 is a two year gap. I think the embassy would explain it better than any of us can.

Its not the Gap that i am worried about.. I've already consulted the embassy about it. Turns out that as long as the college accepts me im good to go. Im worried that if i can't transfer to any other university, i'll be stuck there for a semester.. waste of time.. and a lot of money!

I dont think im understanding, so you are worried about getting transffered to another universiy? if thats then; you will have to do it within the two universities, one that holds your I 20 and the other who is willing to accept it. you. Once the other university accepts your application the university will transfer your sevis :) and it depends on the university, some university requires you to study atleast one semester and get your transffered.

so basically, i have to go to Lewiston and talk them out for my transfer? Thank you for our advice :) . actually i was afraid about asking my college for a transfer before even arriving at the college. I've already postponed my application for 2 years. i dnt want to piss them off further.

dighate bro,
transfering will be easy enough. Worry about finding a college which would accept a new international student at this point for fall. Its already august 2nd. I am nto sure how many school still have deadline for you to apply for UG program. And besides that that school needs to have a degree that want to obtain. Good Luck !

dighate, once you get admited to the university, the rest transfer will be done via your university( laterone) so you dont have to worry about pissing them off. Whatever Sojho boy said its true, you have to wry about getting admited :) all the best
